04 Jun Jung’s Red Book for Our Time: Searching for Soul Under Post Modern Conditions
It is finally out!
“Jung’s Red Book for Our Time: Searching for Soul Under Post Modern Conditions” is a collection of essays by thinkers, scholars and Jungian psychoanalysts edited by Murray Stein and Thomas Arzt.
It provides readers with diverse perspectives on Jung’s search for soul and self-realization throughout his foundational work, “The Red Book”.
In an intimately narrative form combining text with images Jung invites us to peak into his transformative, initiatic journey through the depth of consciousness, subjective as well as objective.
It was truly an honour for me to be invited to contribute a chapter to “Jung’s Red Book for Our Time”.
As a Sufi scholar and practitioner, I was intensely drawn to the chapter Jung titled “The Seven Sermons to the Dead” where he delves into the limits of the rational mind and the power of the heart in its quest for knowing and experiencing reality as it is : truth.
This exploration naturally resonates with my training in Sufi mysticism and its techniques for remaining open to the process of transformation and exaltation that tends to occur on the mystical path from East to West.
Embracing a new order is certainly a topic for our current time.
